The Lettuce Farm
is a 100% artificially lit, controlled environment agricultural (cea) hydroponics lettuce production system. We are located at 61 Hamilton Ave., St John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Commercial production at our current facility commenced in June, 1998.

The five thousand square foot, controlled environment agricultural (cea) hydroponics lettuce production system and associated processes, used by The Lettuce Farm, were designed and constructed by Snellen Holdings (1994) Company Limited. To the best of our knowledge The Lettuce Farm is the largest commercial controlled environment agricultural (cea) hydroponics lettuce farm in the world operating without sunlight.

Our Mission

Improve quality and availability of fresh produce in isolated North American cities and communities by establishing a new "cottage industry" using hydroponics technology. The Lettuce Farm intends to launch a network of controlled environment agricultural (cea) food production franchises that will displace imported produce while creating permanent, sustainable employment in the communities in which they will be deployed.

About Us
